James Scott / Oliver Bridgeford - Vice President
SPEECH: - (I’m allowed to add on more or cut off whatever needed to fit the 2 minute limit)
I can’t believe I’m about to say this word for word, hello there. My name is James Scott and I stand for the Hammer Down Party. According to my own lore to be legible within my party therefore, I was born in Bar Harbor, Maine and am a War Veteran of the Afghan and Gulf Wars, and have held a place within the U.S Senate in 2006 before standing down. The Hammer Down Party desires to be a centrist political group, but given our past Republican influences lean more right than left. Now, why would I support the HDP… well. Today, the world has been falling apart. Yellow Vests in France, Brexit being a failure on all accounts, China being ever more restrictive with their social policies. The Hammer Down Party is afraid of similar processes occurring within the U.S.A. You might believe this isn’t happening, but with free speech being labeled “hate speech” and more and more people of opposing political views are being silenced everywhere from the campus’ of colleges in the West to the backwater rural lands of the South, the Hammer Down Party is seeing change occur, and not for the better. We seek to oppose this globalist change before it too infects America, and brings us down with the rest of the world.
Party Platform In Depth:
Abortion - Neutral: Do not fully support it or stand against it, what we do stand against is how the “government” pays for it, meaning that we pay for it through taxes. Cut government funding EXCEPT in cases of rape where childbirth is forced. If women want to have abortions, let them pay for it. Regarding if there is a time limit or point where clinics aren’t allowed to abort due to development of the child, then the limit is 1st Trimester, Will bring this to female in party to continue
Space - Pro: Space is the final frontier and must be safeguarded, as technology improves the actual threat from space does increase, and given how missiles are capable of going interstellar to strike and earthbound targets faster, and possible malfunctions in starbound tech (i.e satellites) having some form of Corps or Defense Unit dedicated to protecting this last frontier is vital.
Teachers Wages - Pro: We must increase the wages of our teachers, particularly in public since the majority of students reside there. This is due to the fact that many teachers are underpaid, and the efficient teachers are warded off due to low paychecks. Only the dedicated choose to teach, and even then they are forced to deal with an increasing number of unruly kids - they need compensation.
Alternative Energy - Pro: We favor nuclear power. This is radical, and somewhat lethal, and the threat of the Atomic Age still terrifies but nonetheless nuclear power is less wasteful than current fossil fuels, no air pollution. Threat of meltdown is present, but if put into a rural area and with proper regulations and constant surveillance,
Government Healthcare - Con: We stand against it, just for the sheer fact that its extra taxes that we and others must pay for the elderly to enjoy themselves. Nothing against the old, but this money should be for the newer generations retirement. Also it’s a socialist system and can slowly turn Communist, and must be purged.
Drug Control - Con: We are against drug control, and desire to legalize all drugs for a variety of reasons. Mostly being, legalizing all drugs would cut down on illegal drug traffic as no drugs are now illegal, and can provide for an alternative source for taxation, allowing the government to lower overall taxes and charge those “hitting the bong”. To counteract a possible drug addiction increase, drug education will be taught and more funding will be put into “Quitting” programs.
Foreign Affairs - Con: America has been fighting a war on terrorism for over 16 years now, and little progress has been made. Our actions in the Cold War has created all these terrorist groups, most of which we trained and funded, and now they turn against us. By staying within these regions we make affairs only worse by giving them more reasons to attack. To counteract this, we pull out our military and rather supply or fund the legitimate governments of the region, we don’t train them.
Gun Control - Con: Gun control is a blatant and obvious threat to the Constitution. It’s understandable that measures would be taken so that the populace wouldn’t say get machine guns or flamethrowers and use them, but the banning of firearms, particularly pistols in D.C is a blatant restriction of our right to bear arms. We the people have the right to mobilize against the government if we see it fit to do so, and this is one way to control the populace to prevent that.
Death Penalty - Pro: In our eyes the death penalty is good. It brings vengeance for those who horrible murderers and sociopaths had harmed, maimed, or took a family member from. And why do we have “Sentenced of Life”? To hold a man in jail until he dies of natural causes? Is this not inhuman in its own right? Death is a faster, preferable alternative. Not to mention it would cut down on expenses for housing and feeding the worst of the worst and allow for less taxes.
Taxes - We seek to lower them. If you couldn’t tell for reasoning for certain past stances, the Hammer Down Party wishes to lower taxes across the board, or provide other forms of taxation that won’t directly affect the Middle and Lower class. Higher taxes on the Rich may be proposed, but the thinking here is to lower taxes for all, and to allow for more of your paycheck to go to you, and not to the Federal Govt.

Questions For Other Parties:
Frog
- The cost for these gender neutral bathroom improvements? Room for these bathrooms? What if the companies don’t want this?
- How will you determine if a foster child is going into a “better” situation?
- Do you have proof that minorities don’t already if not have more rights than the common man?
- Against Socialism but yet for Veteran Care, is that not self-contradictory?
- How do you propose creating more jobs? What will happen to the ones that the illegal immigrants filled?
- How will you improve the family structure?
- How do you propose to fund this “helping the homeless” program? More taxes?
- How much will this education reform be, and will it affect all education systems, or only public?
- How will you limit the amount of money the government uses and yet use the same government’s power and money to support the homeless and end abortion? Clear contradiction?
- Equal taxes for all? You will exempt the Rich and subject the poor to the same taxes as the Middle Class? Can either support this?
- Why support religious freedom if it's in the Constitution. Do not have the government cross into religion, there MUST be a clear line between Church and State.
- Can companies support equal pay? And will equal taxes help this?
